Cheaton Barn Leominster
Having spent their lives in a bungalow on a smallholding, the couple had ambitions to build a low-maintenance new home. They loved the wonderful rural setting and did not want to relocate, so decided to investigate the potential of developing one of their outbuildings and were advised to apply for planning permission.
After a successful application and spending many months looking for a local specialist timber frame contractor who could add value to the project, Frame Technologies was appointed. Our award-winning track record of delivering high-performance timber frame homes was a major factor in this decision together with our partnership approach, which was important as they wished to be an integral part of the design and building process.

Our TechVantage E system was the optimum solution to deliver the energy efficient, low maintenance new home. An additional liner on the inside of PIR achieves a U-Value of 0.15W/m2K. The rafters were fully filled with glass wool, and a 50mm liner was taped over the joins and service battens to deliver a U-Value of 0.13W/m2K for the roof. With high ceilings it was critical to have high-performance wall and roof systems to create an airtight building envelope.
